They ate the
produce of the land.
Reading II:
2 Corinthians 5: 17–21
We are reconciled
with God through Christ.
Gospel:
Luke 15: 1–3, 11–32
The son that was
lost came back home.
Theme:
God wants us to come back. Now is the time to reconcile.
Question for Adults:
How have you or
your family welcomed a family member who has been distant and/or
absent from you?
Question for Youth:
Is it
difficult for you to say "I'm sorry" when you hurt another or get
off track in your own life? Why or why not?
Question for Children:
Who is the
one person you most need to say, "I'm sorry" to in your family?
Ideas for Using the Faith Sharing Question:
- Do you keep a spiritual journal? Use the faith sharing
question for personal reflection.
- Try your hand at writing faith sharing questions for your
own family.
- Families can use the faith sharing question for their
evening prayers.
- Looking for an opening prayer for a meeting at church? Use
the faith sharing question!
- Emmaus groups can use the question for an opening prayer.
- Families can read the Gospel passage and discuss the faith
sharing question at mealtime.
- These are not meant to be "yes" or "no" questions, but ones
that draw the users deeper into the Gospel.
- Remember: the faith sharing question asks for a personal
response, not a theological discourse.
- Make faith sharing a way of life. The faith sharing
question helps us to see Christ in our world every day.
- Don't forget the faith sharing question for children!
