Worship — Music Ministry

Good Shepherd Faith Community aims for full, active participation in the liturgy. The assembly sings and sings well! Good musical leadership is important for full, active participation to continue to grow. We welcome all with musical talent and time commitment to become a Music Minister. Call John Rudzinski (563-5305) to become involved in one of the following ministries or with an additional idea for Music Ministry.

• Cantors
What We Do: Adults and youth who proclaim the Psalm and lead assembly in song
Training: Call John for audition.
Time Commitment: Rehearse on Tuesday at 7 pm one week prior to Mass and once a month with all cantors

• Choral Shepherds (Choir)
What We Do: Lead the assembly at three Masses/month and holydays
Training: Attend weekly rehearsals.
Time Commitment: Weekly rehearsals Sept thru June on Tuesdays 7:30- 9 pm

• Contemporary Ensembles
What We Do: Lead the assembly.
A) Sunrise Servants biweekly on Sunday at 8 am
B) Shepherds of Faith biweekly at 10 am
C) Rhythm of Christ weekly on Sunday 5 pm.
Training: Rehearsal before each Mass and once in the week prior to the Mass

• Instrumentalists
What We Do: Accompany on keyboard, guitar, percussion, winds and strings
Training: Rehearsal with cantor, ensemble, and choir
Time Commitment: One rehearsal prior to Mass

• Shepherds of Comfort
What We Do: Sing for funerals Training: Rehearsal 45 minutes before a funeral
Time Commitment: On call.

• Sound System Ministry
What We Do: Operate the sound system for all liturgies.
Training: Mentoring with trained sound tech
Time Commitment: 30-45 minutes before each Mass for mike set up and balance

• Volunteers for Music Office
What We Do: Library, phone calls, sort/repair church hymnals, write news articles
Training: Working with trained help
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours/week

• Wind Ensemble/String Ensemble
What We Do: Lead the assembly and perform for feasts and holydays
